“From the start working with you has been a joy, I felt like I was in a safe pair of hands. The attention to detail in your planning process really stood out - and of course your beautiful atmospheric style. Your guidance was full of useful information and inspiration that helped me define what I needed from the brand shoot and get all the little details right. The final photographs really capture the mood I was hoping for and I can’t wait to share them for the launch!”

“From our initial call, through to the planning and then the shoot day, was a joy. You really understood the style and mood of the images I was looking for. The planning stage was so helpful, to really drill down into the images, and I loved the brief I received, my aide memoire on the day! Thank you so much Meg, I absolutely love the images!”

A little bit about me…

I’m a photographer and videographer based in North Somerset, UK. My pronouns are she/her/they/them.

I work with brands and creatives to capture naturally beautiful portraits, brand stories and product photography and videography that invites your audience to stop scrolling and delve deeper into your world.

Working with businesses who have people at their core is where I am happiest- it is our skills, expertise, creativity and craftsmanship that sets our work apart, and I feel strongly about helping you communicate your value (and charge your worth).

My shoot process is designed to support and inspire you, and also keep things running smoothly- you can feel confident you’re in a safe pair of hands.

Prepare for a brilliant shoot

  • A woman in a black outfit sits in a chair representing Meg Lovell Photography offering beautifully natural personal branding imagery, evocative lifestyle product photography and engaging brand films for small businesses in Somerset England UK

Stepping in front of the lens

Portraits and headshots are often where people are most nervous, and a huge part of my job is helping you feel relaxed and confident on camera.

Planning and preparation lay the groundwork for shoot day, so I put a lot of thought into supporting you in the planning stages with outfit guidance and prep lists so you feel your most confident self on the day. In the moment, I’ll gently direct you into natural poses that show you at your best, so you can relax and enjoy the shoot process.

    Finding the perfect location

Your shoot location is a big part of capturing the right aesthetic to suit your brand, and finding the perfect location(s) is always a big part of shoot planning.

My planning guide has lots of advice and ideas on how to find the right locations for your shoot. If you need more dedicated location scouting services, I offer those as an add-on service as well.

We may shoot at multiple locations through the day or find one spot that can do it all- every shoot is unique and we’ll find a location that works for you.

  • A set of colourful cushions rests on a rustic wooden bench.

    Creating a versatile shot list

You might already have a list of key image requirements, and a clear creative brief for me. Or, you might not!

I offer each client a tailored planning service, where I’m ready to listen, collaborate, and offer ideas to develop a shot list for the day that ensures we capture the imagery you need whilst also leaving room for creative inspiration to strike.

As part of the planning process, I’ll create a bespoke Shoot Brief which brings together the creative direction, moodboard, shot list, schedule and logistics all in one place for you.

“It was such a seamless and very organised process with a beautiful result. I love how consistent the images are and really appreciate your hard work. Really hope we can work together again soon! ”
